We cannot understand what periodontal disease is if we do not know its origin. It appears due to the accumulation of bacteria on the teeth and under the gums, causing inflammation and tissue destruction.

Curettage

With good daily oral hygiene, we will be able to prevent possible future problems with our teeth. A curettage is a treatment for removing bacterial plaque that goes beyond simply cleaning the surface of the teeth. Scraping and root planing techniques are used to remove tartar and bacterial plaque accumulated in periodontal pockets.

Treatment with membranes for bone regeneration

In certain circumstances, it is necessary to place a membrane and a soft substitute to regenerate the defect that has been left in our bone due to periodontal disease. The biomaterial used is called Emdogain, a protein derived from the enamel matrix that has recently been developed to regenerate the supporting tissues of the tooth.

Gingivectomy
